Pesticide Training and Licensing

Training & Certification

The education of those individuals who sell (vendors) and apply (applicators) pesticides is a key element in promoting the responsible use of pesticides to protect human health and the environment. Each province and territory is responsible for the training and certification of pesticide vendors and applicators, based on a standard determined by Health Canada, Consumer Product Safety.

Anyone providing a pesticide application service in Alberta requires a Pesticide Service Registration from Alberta Environment.
